Volunteer Process & Requirements

Becoming a Temcare volunteer is a thoughtful and supported journey. We are committed to ensuring that every volunteer feels prepared, valued, and equipped to serve safely and confidently.

Your Journey with Temcare

  • Step 1

    Apply

    Complete our Volunteer Application Form to help us understand your background, interests, and how you would like to be involved.

  • Step 2

    Screening

    To ensure a safe and supportive environment for everyone, we take care in getting to know each volunteer.

    This includes:

    – Working with Children Check (WWCC)
    – National Police Check
    – Two referee checks (including one pastoral reference)
    – A conversation with our team

    This is where we have an opportunity to learn more about each other — your background, availability, and the role you are interested in — and for you to ask questions and explore what volunteering may look like.

  • Step 3

    Induction

    All volunteers participate in an initial induction covering:

    – Temcare’s mission and values
    – Child safety and safeguarding
    – Code of conduct and boundaries
    – Privacy and confidentiality
    – Health and safety procedures

  • Step 4

    Training & Support

    We continue to support you throughout your journey with:

    – Ongoing supervision and guidance
    – Twice-yearly training (in-person and online)
    – Regular check-ins and encouragement

    You are never expected to serve alone.

  • Step 5

    Begin Volunteering

    Once onboarded, you will step into a role that aligns with your interests and capacity — whether that is regular involvement or occasional support.
